Saint Patrick’s Day means many things: green beer, green beer, green beer, and more green beer. And more green beer can mean greenish teeth. Who wants green teeth? Nobody — especially those of us who are working so hard to whiten our teeth.

So what can you do to avoid green teeth? Don’t rely on Irish luck. Dentists say that the answer is, not surprisingly, avoid green beer. Opt out of the artificially colored brew and get a Guinness or a Black & Tan; or better yet, try not drinking on Saint Patty’s Day and celebrate Irishness some other way. You could chow down on some corned beef and cabbage or host a sober jig… which might get lonely; but you never know — you might start a fad. Some other options: Why not be a designated driver for the night or stay home and watch Angela’s Ashes? Woo!
